Born Feb 4, 1858 , at Amboy, IL, she was the only child of David Chester Hale and Mary Catherine Van Horne. In 1867 she came with her parents to Iowa, settling in Cedar Co. In 1871 she came to Anamosa which has been her home since. She attended public school here. She was united in marriage to Edwin Tempest Leete, Volga City, IA, Oct 25, 1874. To this union six children were born. Her husband and three of the children, Charles Hugh, Mable May and Edwin Victor, preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Robert David, Omaha, NE and Fred William, Council Bluffs; and one daughter Mrs. Emma Ann Thompson, Cedar Rapids. She also leaves 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Mrs. Leete was a member of the Seventh Day Advent Church, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service will be held in the Loder Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel. on 10 January 1946 at Anamosa, Jones Co., IA, USA.6

Kurt-Muller: Monticello, IA. - Special: The marriage of Matt E. Muller, son of Mr. & Mrs. George Muller of Monticello and Miss Katherine Kurt, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Kurt, farmers of this vicinity, took place Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock at St. Mary's church at Cascade, the Right Rev. Monsignor J. D. Albers, pastor, performing the ceremony.
The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Reta Hosch of Cascade and Raymond Kurt, brother of the bride, served as bestman.
Mr. Muller has been engaged in farming since his graduation from Sacred Heart School here a few years ago. Mrs. Muller received her education in the Cascade schools, graduating from St. Mary's School. Since that time she has been engaged in teaching in the rural schools in that vicinity.
The new home will be made on the Muller farm, four miles north of Cascade.4,5 
Death*Matthew Edward Muller died on 13 July 1979 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA, USA, at age 70; Matthew E. Muller, 70, died at 7 p.m. Friday at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of injuries received in a traffic accident earlier in the day.
According to a report filed by the Iowa Hwy Patrol, Muller, driving a pickup, pulled from a gravel road at the north edge of Monticello and into the path of a semi-truck driven by Scott J. Larson, Cedarburg.
Muller's pickup was hit broadside by the semi, which was northbound on Highway 151. Larson was not injured........4,6

She was the mother of 12 children, eleven of whom survive her. The funeral was held Friday at 2 o'clock, services held in St. Joseph's Cathedral, Marysville, interment in the Catholic Cemetery.4,5 
Obituary/NewspaperShe was new tag She was one of the early settlers first to engage in agricultural pursuits in this section...Arriving in California in 1864 in company with her husband, the late John Weber, she shared in the reverses and vicissitudes that came to all the pioneer bands in their struggles...Mrs. Weber on the death of her husband she did not hesitate to go forth into the field to follow the plough in the furrow, to lend a hand in the haymaking, to sow the grain in the springtime, and aid in and superintend the gathering of the harvest in the season of the reaper; and all this in the days when the work was far more laborious than at the present time...her twelve children, of wom eleven now survive her - 7 daughters and 4 sons: Maggie now Sister M. Boniface, Superioress of a convent in Boston, for a long time stationed at Santa Cruz; Mrs. John Strief, of this city; Lizzie, now Sister M. Teresa, stationed at Dunsmuir; Mrs. Jacob Webeer, of San Francisco; Mrs. Carl Doeing, San Francisco, Mrs. John Miller, Sutter Co; Sister M. Christina, local convent; Mrs. Susie Beckman, who died 4 yrs ago in this city. The 4 sons: Nicholas Weber, of the firm of Townsend & Weber of this city; Peter Weber, a farmer near Live Oak; Michael and John Weber living adjacent to the home place. on 31 December 1896 at Sutter Co., CA, USA.6,4
