Death*John Joseph Muller died on 23 September 1898 at Bowen's Prairie, Monticello, Jones Co., IA, USA, at age 39; John Muller about 40 years of age, died Friday at 8:30 p.m. Been ailing for several weeks. In the forenoon he applied to Dr. Mirick for medicine. He had a temperature of 102. The physcian gave him medication for a fever. Mr. Muller continued with his work, and while milking he fainted away. He was carried to the house and expired shortly after. The physcians Hunter, Inglis and Thomas thought he died of heart failure produced by exhaustion, but inclined to the idea from the symptoms of what is popularly know as "walking" typhoid fever.6,10,11
